Garden Landscape Supplies

I was asked to design a small garden, mostly influenced by zen gardens. The site is shaped like a triangle, and there’s bamboo on one of the corners. However, the owners don’t want sand or gravel because they have dogs, and the site doesn’t seem to be apt for a zen garden (there’s a Mexican fountain and a cross), so I thought about using some big rocks, tall ferns (similar to lady ferns), santolina and salvia. Santolina mostly to resemble the color of gravel, and salvia because I like the scent and the purple flowers somewhat resemble Japanese cherry blossoms. Do you have any other recommendations? Thanks for the advice.

I understand decomposed granite is good, however if it remains wet, it will turn to soup. Please help. I want something other than just sand. My plan is to landscape the area outside the pool with pavers and gravel Help!!!!! :).

i want to plant a garden in my front yard but i would kinda like to see what it might look like. it that possible?

But where you register for garden and landscaping supplies and then all your guest cover over for the day and help build your backyard?

And then you feed them, great food, alcohol, sodas and then maybe a movie afterwards for their hard work?

Would anyone go to one of these? And how do you get a friend to throw it for you?

Good Idea? Bad Idea? Would you think less of your friend if you had to go do some manual labor for them?
Add: I guess I am a better friend than most.. I totally would go help my friend plan, work and decorate her backyard.
